Dog Suicide had me laughing out loud. Insightful thoughts on parenting are woven into real life stories that make it significantly more entertaining than most parenting books. I'm recommending this book to all my friends!

I have known Sam for over 40 years; unfortunately, we haven't seen each other in at least 30. Reading this not only brought back memories, but I also felt like I had reconnected with my oldest friend. It was great to see Sam bring great life lessons learned from Mr. Leach (his father Ray) and incorporate those precious memories, fond and often hilarious fatherhood-teaching moments, into a great read that is thought out and well executed. Dog Suicide and Other Thoughts on Fathering is a good example of a modern instruction manual geared towards fatherhood, marriage, and just being good to one another in a time when the world seems not to be the one we may remember from the past. I highly recommend this great read; extremely entertaining (I had the honor of being present for parts), thoughtful, and worth your time! Well done, old friend! When is the sequel?

I really enjoyed reading this book! It was amusing, thought provoking and well written. I loved the anecdotes and the humor in which it was written.. plus a lot of good wisdom, honestly written, coming from a father of only ten years (at that point of writing). Meaning it usually takes most people a lot longer to figure out (if ever) what this father has already figured out..I look forward to reading his next book! I will definitely be passing this book to my grown kids who are parents and who I know will enjoy reading it as well.
